Apple’s strategy of usineg cliches and stereotypes to de-base the PC (and its users) has finally been attacked directly by Microsoft in this commercial, probably the best out of the three so far in the campaign. Good going. There’s not room for hate and ridicule in this world, and that was exactly what Apple was up to.

The culture of finding out where we are from, is something that is innate in all of us.  Origin, identity and of identifying with another is probably what creates cultures. This scientific project, probably one of the most important in our times, is going to tell us more about our meta identity than any other scientific endeavour. What was the big bang, and how was everything created? The source. Here is a video that explains the Large Hadron Particle Collider, built in CERN. It might tell us about the culture of the universe.

On a recent ADD fuelled multiple tabbed browsing operation into the depths of the WWW, I found a man who has been conducting experiments with underprivileged children across different regions of India. His project has explored how children, totally unfamiliar with the English language, and even basic technology such as the television, could, in the space of a few months teach themselves the basics of computer operation, web browsing and in the process, basic English. Not only did they teach themselves, they also made sure that the other kids around them learnt as much as they did. Two main things to learn from this:

1. Are kids today ‘genetically coded’ to pick up technology, the likes of which would have taken our generation years to ‘learn’, even with assistance? In other words, are they a more intelligent species?

2. Will we, then, in the future, need teachers at all?
